According to a clinical study by the Ministry of Health (KKM), 66% of patients suffer from the post-Covid syndrome, and among the most common symptoms are:

  1. Fatigue
  2. Cough
  3. Breathing difficulties
  4. Difficulty sleeping at night/restlessness

Overcoming Post-Covid Tiredness, Shortness Of Breath And Sneezing

According to Dr Hadi, post-Covid fatigue and frequent shortness of breath can be mitigated by practising proper breathing techniques or Deep Breathing Exercises.

Dr Hadi demonstrated the breathing techniques in a TikTok video which has since gone viral.

Deep breathing exercises can lessen feelings of anxiety and stress, which are common for someone who experienced severe symptoms or was admitted to a hospital.

Besides, sleep quality may also improve with these breathing exercises.

The exercises can be started at home during self-isolation and easily incorporated into your daily routine.

Furthermore, there are many symptoms you can experience after a Covid-19 infection.

A long covid is a condition in which a person feels the following symptoms 4 weeks and beyond after being positive for Covid-19.

According to Dr Erna Nadia, among the symptoms are:

  1. Fatigue/tiredness
  2. Cough
  3. Headache
  4. Brain fog or difficulty concentrating
  5. Shortness of breath
  6. Need more effort to exercise
  7. Chest pain
  8. Fast/pounding heartbeats
  9. Joint pain
  10. Stomach ache

If you experience severe and prolonged symptoms after the Covid-19 infection, it is advisable to go to a nearby clinic or hospital for treatment.

Therefore, despite the nation entering into an endemic period starting 1 April, we must continue to maintain the standard operation procedure (SOPs) at all times.
