Social NewsConcertgoers in Johor caught violating SOPs, netizens asked why the double standard...

The Covid-19 pandemic had brought about massive changes to our lifestyle and it appears that we will never be able to go back to our lifestyles before the pandemic.

As of now, we are still required to live with the SOPs and practice social distancing to reduce the risk of getting infected with Covid-19.

Recently, a video of a concert in Johor went viral after netizens accused the concertgoers of taking the SOPs lightly despite the authorities’ continuous reminders to stay abide with them.

The concert is believed to have taken place in Angsana, Johor Bharu.

In the video, the RELA personnel can be seen present to ensure that the concertgoers scan the MySejahtera application.

However, during the concert, the concertgoers were seen dancing while seemingly oblivious to the need for social distancing. Even so, the RELA personnel did nothing the whole time.

In the comment section, netizens were angry and criticised the concertgoers’ attitude. At the same time, they also criticised the authorities for turning a blind eye on such incidents, but imposed strict SOPs for people who want to pray in a mosque or surau.

A netizen even tagged the Health Minister Khairy Jamaluddin in this comment and asked whether this is allowable.

Previously, Selangor Islamic Religious Department (JAIS) has announced that worshippers who have yet to receive their booster shots are not allowed to perform Friday prayers at the mosque.

The decision was to prevent Covid-19 infection after seeking advice from the Selangor State Health Department, following the latest pandemic developments in the state.

However, this policy applies only to mosques in Selangor.
