On Thursday (10 February), passengers on an AirAsia flight had a shocked of their life after a snake was seen in the cabin of its aircraft.
The incident took place on a flight from Kuala Lumpur to Tawau, Sabah and it caused the pilot to divert the plane to Kuching instead.
The video that went circulating on social media showed the ominous shadow of a snake slithering inside one of the plane’s overhead compartments.
In a statement, AirAsia chief safety officer Liong Tien Ling confirmed the incident and said no one was hurt from the incident.
He said that as soon as the pilot was made aware of the incident, he decided to divert the aircraft to Kuching as a precautionary measure to catch the snake and fumigate the aircraft.
“This is a very rare incident which can occur on any aircraft from time to time.”

“The captain took the appropriate action and the flight will depart for Tawau as soon as possible.”

Meanwhile, netizens were amazed at how a snake could have gotten on board the plane.

Meanwhile, a netizen asked whether AirAsia will charge its passengers extra for this little excitement.
