The Johor state election will soon be here and each politician is going around sharing what they did for the people.
At the same time, Bersatu Supreme Council member Azmin Ali joined the bandwagon and this time around, he urged the people of Johor to consider the Perikatan Nasional (PN) government’s track record of handling the pandemic.
According to Bernama, Azmin, who attended a Chinese New Year dinner with representatives of Johor’s small-and-medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) on 6 February, claimed that the PN government’s success was recognised globally as “the best government in managing Covid-19 recovery efforts”.
“Within a short period, the country was facing a health and economic crisis, but under the leadership of Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, PN successfully brought the country out of this crisis.” he said.
In addition, he also cited the Nikkei Covid-19 Recovery Index that ranked Malaysia 13th compared to 115th last year.
“We need to continue this success and I leave it to the rakyat to make the right decision in the state election,” he said.
The Johor state assembly was dissolved on 22 January but the EC had yet to announce the important dates for the election – nomination, early voting and polling. It is expected that the EC will announce them on this coming Wednesday (9 February).
