In conjunction with the Chinese New Year, Health Minister Khairy Jamaluddin has reminded Malaysians to take a Covid-19 self-test before mingling with friends and family.
While extending his best wishes for the Lunar New Year, Khairy said practicing TRIIS (Test, Report, Isolate, Inform and Seek) was a collective responsibility to curb the spread of the virus.
“Happy Chinese New Year 2022. Don’t forget to take an RTK self test before mingling with friends and family.”
“#TRIIS is our collective responsibility. May the year of the tiger bring success, wellbeing and joy to us all. Gong Xi Fa Cai!” Khairy wrote on Twitter.
The tweet from Khairy was also retweeted by Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah.
Meanwhile, Dr Noor Hisham had also shared the same reminders in his official Facebook page, urging Malaysians to protect the vulnerable loved ones.
In addition, he also said Covid-19 had yet again stopped Malaysians from going to large public gatherings for Chinese New Year and that while the situation was improving, the public must adhere to all public health and social measures.
“For those who are celebrating with your family. More importantly is to Self test and protect the vulnerable people in your family.”
“Although the Covid-19 situation currently is stabilising and improving, please comply to all public health and social measures.”
“The onus and responsibility is on everyone to protect our families and ourselves,” he said.
