Senior citizens aged 60-year-old and above will be able to walk in at 4 integrated vaccination centres (PPV) in Klang Valley to get their Covid-19 Pfizer booster shots starting 19 January, the Health Ministry (KKM) announced.
In a statement on 17 January, KKM said the 4 integrated PPVs at World Trade Centre in Kuala Lumpur, Axiata Arena in Bukit Jalil and Ideal Convention Centre in Shah Alam will be operational everyday from 2 p.m. until 8 p.m. except for public holidays.
Meanwhile, Sokka Gakkai Hall in Klang will also be open every day but only from 12 p.m. until 4 p.m.
Besides the 4 stated, selected off-site PPVs located in Selangor, Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya, Negeri Sembilan, Melaka, Pulau Pinang, and Sarawak will also allow walk-ins for senior citizens starting from 24 January 2022.
The full list of participating off-site PPVs for senior citizens will be announced by ProtectHealth Corporation.
Senior citizens are also reminded to get their digital Covid-19 vaccination certificate ready on their MySejahtera app as well as their identification card. The ministry also advises people to have a good breakfast before going to the PPV.
Individuals who are feeling unwell or are having a high-risk COVID-19 status on MySejahtera are urged to defer their vaccination plans.
In the statement, KKM said the 4 integrated PPVs were launched on 15 January to increase the capacity of booster vaccinations in Klang Valley and is currently inoculating individuals who were fully vaccinated with AstraZeneca or Sinovac with AstraZeneca booster jabs.
“Beginning 19 January 2022, the Pfizer vaccine will also be supplied at the PPV specifically for certain individuals such as pregnant women who have received an appointment or individuals who have contraindications to the AstraZeneca vaccine,” it added.
