Discounts On Traffic Summons Extended To 31 Dec And Payment Can Be Made Via Maybank ATM

The 80% discount on traffic summonses by the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) in conjunction with the “100 Aspiration Days of the Malaysia Family” celebration ended up a disaster last week, with massive crowds at their booths and counters, and their websites crashed due to the heavy traffic.

After the incident, the PDRM has finally announced that Malaysians can now pay their “80% discount” traffic summons in more locations, including the Maybank ATM machines!

Previously, the “80% discount” is only available at the KL Convention Centre (KLCC) booth, State Offices, Urban Transformation Centres (UTC), and through their online portal.

For those who are unaware of what’s going on, the PDRM has announced that Malaysians can get up to 80% discounts on their summons starting 9 December until 12 December. The discount were 80% for people in the Federal Territory and Putrajaya, while 70% for people in other states.

However, as soon as the announce was made, the online portal, MyBayar Saman portal crashed due to the heavy traffic.

Things weren’t that great if you are paying at the counter too. There were massive crowd at the PDRM counter at KLCC, the state offices, as well as the places which were in the announcement.

In response, the PDRM had on yesterday (12 December) added Malaysian post offices and Maybank ATMs as places where you can pay your discounted fines. This might be more convenient, and less likely to form a crowd since there are many more Maybank ATMs around in the country.

In addition, the discount period is now extended the until 31 December 2021 too.

So for those who wanted to pay your discounted summons at a Maybank ATM, here’s a guide for you on how to do it. Simply follow the following steps:

• In the main menu, select “PAYBILLS”
• Select “PDRM SUMMONS PAYMENT”
• Enter your IC Number
• The summons that are tied to your IC Number will show up at the discounted rate
• Select the summons to pay

Meanwhile, JPJ’s online portal is now working normally too, so you can pay your discounted summons online right now. However, if it crashes for whatever reasons again, you can always visit the nearby Maybank ATM machine to pay for it.
