Last Wednesday (1 December), a student was being beaten up by his senior until his wright wrist was broken in a dormitory of a secondary high school in Kulim, Kedah.
The incident only came into light when the From One student complained of pain in his right wrist, which then school then informed his mother to come and pick up the victim at the dormitory.
According to Harian Metro, sources said the victim’s mother picked him up at 3.30 p.m. a day after the incident and brought her son to Kulim Hospital after his right wrist was swollen.
“After doctor’s examination, the hospital informed that the student’s right wrist was broken, believed to be due to a strong blow to his wrist.”
“As a result, the student told his mother that he was beaten by some senior students while in the dormitory.”
Sources also said that the father of the student has lodged a police report as he was upset with the incident that happened on his son.
The police then conducted an investigation and the victim claimed he was asked to wash clothes by a senior student at 11 p.m.
“However, the victim refused to follow the instructions by giving excuse that he was busy before the senior student knocked his head and there was a fight.”
It was also reported that during the time, there were about 8 other students who tried to intervene and also took part in beating the victim, causing him to fall and injure his right hand.
Kulim District Police Chief Superintendent Sazalee Adam has confirmed receiving a report and the incident and he said the police are still conducting further investigations by recording evidence from all parties.
