Social NewsMalaysia's Proton X70 Becomes The Official Vehicle Of Kenyan Police

Proton has made significant progress ever since their merger with Chinese carmaker Geely and are now producing good quality vehicles such as the Proton X70.

Proton’s first SUV, the X70 model was a remarkable achievement by Proton, where they managed to sell 48,000 units within the span of 2 years, where some were being exported to other countries such as Brunei, Indonesia, Pakistan and most recently Kenya.

Proton Kenya has recently announced the delivery of 30 units of the X70 SUV to the Kenya Police Service, which will be used for official policing duties.

Taking to Facebook, Proton Kenya wrote “The Proton X70 will bring supreme style, superb stability and comfort for the national police service as they execute their mandate.”

It is surprising that Malaysians were able to find this announcement, despite Kenya being such a distance apart from Malaysia.

In the comment section, Malaysians said they were proud that our national carmaker Proton is making it to the international stage and are now exporting our very own vehicles.

Some Malaysians pointed out the unique colourways of the X70 which were made available there but not here.

Meanwhile, another netizen commented that he had been put on the waiting list for 8 months now, just to find out that some X70s were being exported overseas.

Besides the Proton X70, Simba Corporation, who is the sole authorised distributor of Proton cars in Kenya, also sells the Persona and Saga model. However, these vehicles are locally-assembled models that comes from the Associated Vehicle Assemblers (AVA) plant located at Miritini, Mombasa.

With that, isn’t it great to see our products being appreciated by others?
