This comes after June Wei’s poor performance at the Czech Open and Belgium International, where he lost 2 matches which he was expected to win and failed to meet his KPIs.

Following his resignation, BAM has formally withdrawn June Wei’s participation in the 3 upcoming International Challenge tournaments in Ireland, Scotland and Wales.

Jun Wei is ranked 4th in Malaysia and 71 in the world, following behind Lee Zii Jia (7), Liew Daren (34) and Ng Tze Yong (68).

Meanwhile, Wong had in the interview said that June Wei’s performance had declined to a worrying state.

“June Wei has been in the borderline as far as his performance is concerned. Players who came after him have done better.”

Wong then said that the younger players have continue to outshine him and BAM had given him many chances to step up his game.

“I guess he knew that his hopes to remain in the team was getting slim as there were no results.” Wong said.

With this, it was unfortunate that June Wei had to part ways with BAM and to start a new chapter of his life.

As for June Wei, it appeared that he is taking this positively and is ready to take on the new challenges ahead of him. He posted a photo of him posing in front of a signboard which read ‘Live well’ and captioned “A new path, day ONE”, indicating that he will be moving on.
