A man in Banting was nabbed by the police for going on rampage and smashed the windows of the vehicles parked in front of a bank in Jalan Abdul Samad, Banting on Tuesday (26 October).
According to Kosmo, the incident is said to have taken place at about 9.30 a.m. and the 39 year-old suspect is believed to be suffering from mental illness.
Kuala Langat District Police Chief, Supt Ahmad Ridhwan Mohd [email protected] said one of owners of the vehicle parked there saw the suspect walking around with an iron rod before he smashes the window of his vehicle.

The victim said the suspect then repeatedly smashed the windows of 12 other vehicles parked at the location.
“A team from the Patrol Car Unit (MPV) rushed to the scene after receiving information and had arrested the suspect and confiscated the iron rod he used.”

“The results of the investigation found that the suspect was unemployed single and is a local resident.” he said.
Ahmad Ridhwan also said the initial investigation found that the suspect is believed to be suffering from emotional stress and that he had previously receive treatment for being mentally ill.
He added that the suspect has not received psychiatric treatment from any mental hospital for a long time.
“A check into the records found that the suspect had three previous records related to narcotics but his urine test came back negative for drugs.”
“So far, the police have received five police reports from car owners who suffered losses from the incident.” he said.
He added that the case is being investigated under Section 427 of the Penal Code for committing mischief and thereby causing damage.
Earlier, two videos had went viral on social media, showing the man smashing car windows and was being arrested by the police.
