Yesterday (17 October), a 29 year-old policeman was found dead with a gunshot wound to his neck at a parking lot in Pekan Muar, Johor.
According to The Star, Johor Police Chief, Comm Datuk Ayob Khan Mydin Pitchay said the policeman, a lance corporal, had sent a WhatsApp message to the Muar police headquarters at 8.20 a.m. about his intention to commit suicide.
“We immediately launched a search operation and found him inside his own car at a parking lot in the Muar town area a few hours later at 11.18am.”

“The policeman had a gun wound on his neck and with him, a.38 revolver.” Ayob Khan said.
It was reported that the policeman was a bachelor from Melaka and was assigned to the Muar police headquarters.
Ayoh Khan said that the police understands that the victim is currently facing personal issues.
He added that the investigation into the incident is still ongoing.
