NewsMySejahtera introduces New Feature to allow Users report SOP Violators!

Malaysia is set to achieve a 90% adult population vaccination rate soon and this will meant that most Malaysians will be able to enjoy the SOP relaxations announced by the government previously.

Nonetheless, the Health Minister, Khairy Jamaluddin had stressed that it is the responsibility of the public to comply with the existing SOPs and to prevent the risk of another Covid-19 outbreak.

To further empower Malaysians with the ability to report violations of Covid-19 standard operating procedures (SOPs) to the authorities, Khairy said the Ministry of Health (KKM) has introduced a new function to the MySejahtera app.

The new feature will enable users to lodge their complaints through the MySejahtera app in just a few simple steps.

The announcement was made by Khairy yesterday (2 October) on his Twitter, where he shared a short video showing how the new feature works.

As shown, there will be a new “Complaint” button at the homepage of the MySejahtera app, which the button will take users to another page to select the type of violation they want to report.

There are 4 options available and they are:

  • Individuals who violated SOPs (not wearing a face mask or adhering to physical distance)
  • Premise owners who violated SOPs (failure to record visitors or check body temperature)
  • Violation of quarantine order
  • Other matters

Meanwhile, users are required to mark the location of the incident, as well as uploading a photo as evidence.

In the tweet, Khairy said he has instructed the app developer to update the MySejahtera app.

“I have asked the developer of the MySejahtera app to update slightly but the feature is there.” he said.

The tweet was made in response to a netizen who asked whether there is an online platform for the public to make reports against premises that failed to comply with the Covid-19 SOP.

Meanwhile, the Health Director-General, Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah also urged the public to make use of the new facility.

“If you see someone not complying with the SOP, please report your complaint to MySejahtera.” he said, replying Khairy’s statement.
