On Monday (20 September), a chemical plant in Klang was issued a RM10,000 fine by the Selangor Department of Environment for dumping its red waste in public drains.
The Department took it to Facebook to shame the factory involved for failing to comply with the several rules related to scheduled waste management.
The Facebook post also mention that the factory is located in Kawasan Perindustrian Sungai Puloh, Klang and it is currently being investigated for the dumping of red sludge into public drains found during an inspection over the weekend.
The wastewater samples from the plant process were taken for chemical analysis and allowed further enforcement action to be taken.
