Covid-19 situation in Selangor is showing tremendous improvement!

After over a year of fight with Covid-19, we finally were able to see a glimpse of light at the end of the tunnel.

As more of us are getting vaccinated, the Covid-19 situation in the nation is showing tremendous improvement, especially in Selangor!

According to Media Selangor, the data obtained from the Ministry of Health (MOH) showed that the daily cases of Selangor on Saturday (28 August) are 25% lower compared to the highest daily cases since 1 June. The death cases in Selangor are also showing a decline too.

In addition, Media Selangor said that the hospital bed usage are below 80% for 5 consecutive days from 23 to 27 August, and the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) bed usage are under 100 per cent for 3 days in a row from 25 to 27 August.

The data also showed an apparent decrease on critical Covid-19 cases recorded in Selangor in recent days too.

Meanwhile, National COVID-19 Immunisation Programme (JKJAV) said that 61.9% of the adult population in Malaysia has been fully vaccinated as of 28 August.

On the other hand, the MOH also urge the public to not panic about the daily reported numbers as 97.9% of the new Covid-19 cases belonged to the Category 1 and 2 (No symptoms or mild symptoms cases).

On 25 August, Public Health Malaysia had shared a screenshot of a conversation between the doctors on Facebook, verifying that the Malaysia Agro Exposition Park Serdang (MAEPS) now has many empty beds and their staff were finally being able to have a good rest.

In addition, they said that patients who required oxygen supply have decreased too.

Nonetheless, they also extended their thanks to all Malaysians who abide by the SOPs and put effort to protect themselves.

“It is still too early to relax, but with the combined effort and support from everyone, we are starting to see the end of the tunnel.” they said.

On the other hand, shops, malls and restaurants were also allowed to operate and dine-ins are allowed but these privileges were for the fully vaccinated individuals. However, we should not be complacent and flaunt all the privileges given to us as the virus is still lurking around, looking for its next victim.
