Annuar Musa caught by Netizens for Walking on Streets without a Mask

Former Federal Territories Minister, Annuar Musa was being slammed by netizens after he tweeted about the “Nasi Berlauk Air Dingin” he found near his house in Kuala Lumpur.

In the tweet, he posted a photo of himself without a mask, while promoting the “Nasi Berlauk Air Dingin” to netizens, at the same time promotes the other localities around his house.

He captioned “The best news that I’ve been looking forward to this morning. I came across a stall selling Nasi Berlauk Air Dingin near my house in KL! Not only that but there is Nasi Tumpang and kuih Lompat Tikam!”

“The Seller does not have a license. I hope DBKL will not take action against them. Haha. Later no more supply.”

The tweet was posted today (19 August) at 11.30 a.m. but it was then taken down by Annuar Musa himself as he receives a barrage of criticisms for flouting the SOPs by not wearing a face mask in public.

This is not the first time Annuar Musa was caught violating the SOP. Previously, he was slapped with a RM2,000 fine for visiting the former prime minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi’s home in Kuala Lumpur last month and another RM1,000 fine for dining with 6 others back in February.

During January, he was being caught for jogging with 2 others without a mask, when sports and recreational activities were restricted then, but jogging was allowed in pairs.

Netizens then let go of their frustrations and criticised the the Kereteh MP for flouted the SOPs once again.

“The extent to which MPs openly flout the laws without any repercussions & rub the stench of double-standards on the rakyat’s faces is just simply astounding.”

“Where is your mask? We ordinary people can’t do this because we will get compounded and imprisoned. Don’t you understand that part of our anger is when things happen like this? What are you trying to tell us?”

“No licence – normalise it. No mask – normalise it. This is the kind of leadership and governance this country had and perhaps is now about to have! God’s watching. That’s all I can say.”

“He didn’t even wear a mask, then want to promote the vendors saying they have no license and told not to take action for his own benefit. You become YB for what? You have the power, why don’t you help to settle it? Or are you used to closing one eye when people break the law so that you can protect yourself?”
