“The number of confirmed cases now is around 20,000, but it is actually over 80,000.”
In a recent Facebook live broadcast between Bakri Member of Parliament (MP), Yeo Bee Yin and ADUN Bilut, Lee Chin Chen, Yeo claimed that the Deputy Health Director General Dr Chong Chee Kheong admits that out of every 1 confirmed Covid-19 case, there are 3 more cases which are not reported. This meant that the daily reported numbers were under reported.
“In fact, we already knew it, and they finally admitted that for every confirmed case notification, there are actually 3 cases that have not been reported.”
“This also means that now (the number of confirmed cases in a single day) is 20,000, but there are actually over 80,000.” she said.
In addition, Yeo also reminded that there are many asymptomatic Covid-19 patients in the community and she urge Malaysians to be more careful and register for the vaccine immediately.
In the live broadcast, Yeo also admitted that if the Pakatan Harapan government is now in power, it will be very difficult for them to handle the situation as there are more than 80,000 actual cases that is happening daily.
“Before (the confirmed cases in a single day) were hundreds or thousands of cases, our country did not carry out large-scale testing, large-scale tracking, large-scale isolation, and with over 80,000 cases now, we have been unable handle the situation anymore.”
“If we were to take over the government now, it will be very difficult for us.”
According to Sin Chew, Dr Lokman Hakim pointed out that the Ministry had not conducted comprehensive large-scale screening last month, which resulted in those asymptomatic Covid-19 patients being on the streets, unaware of they are spreading the virus around.
“I estimate that the actual number is at least 4 to 5 times the published data, that is, 28,000 to 35,000 new cases per day.”
At that time, the number of confirmed cases in a single day was approaching 10,000, hovering between 8,000 and 9,000.
