Early this morning (9 August), the Malaysian singer, Siti Sarah Raisuddin, who had been battling with Covid-19 while pregnant with her 4th child has succumbed to the disease.

On the other hand, the doctors managed to rescue her baby.

According to mStar, the 37 year-old singer was reported to have passed away at 5.13 a.m. today (9 August) at the intensive care unit (ICU) of Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia’s Chancellor Tuanku Muhriz Hospital.

Previously, Siti was reported to have been hospitalised last Wednesday (4 August) after she was suffering from severe cough and low oxygen levels.

She was then admitted to the hospital’s ICU and put in a medically induced coma on Friday (6 August).

However, her condition has not improved and the doctors had performed a 3-hour surgery to save her baby’s life on the same day.

Although the baby was prematurely born, the baby boy was safely delivered and he was given the name of Ayash Affan.

However, Siti had not wake up for 3 days since the surgery and the news of her death was suddenly shared by her husband, Shuib Sepahtu, whose real name is Shahmira Muhamad, on Instagram.

“My heavenly angel has gone forever. I ask you to please offer Al-Fatihah,” he wrote.

Siti was tested positive for Covid-19 along with her whole family on 27 July.

According to Berita Harian, Siti Sarah, her husband, and their three children, Uwais Alqarni, 10, Dzahira Talita Zahra, 8, and Ariq Matin, 6, were tested positive for Covid-19 and they later found out that they were close contacts of a domestic helper.

Nonetheless, Shuib and his children have since tested negative after 14 days of quarantine.

Our condolences to Siti’s family and we hope that your family will stay strong in braving the future endeavors.
