On Monday (2 August), a tragic incident had happened in Cheras, Selangor whereby a man was being murdered in the broad daylight in a gruesome fight.
The incident took place in the late evening opposite an apartment building in Taman Taragon Puteri, Batu 9, Cheras and the scene was being recorded on camera by the onlookers.
The video was then being circulated on Facebook, showing that at least 2 men were assaulting the victim while an unidentified woman shielded him.
Despite her screaming out for help, the attackers had continued to deliver kicks and punches to the man lying on the ground.
After causing a scene, a security guard nearby noticed the incident and intervened the fight. However, the attackers held the guard off and continue assaulting the man.
In another short clip, the attackers can be seen trying to carry the victim into the orange Ford pick-up. However, they failed to do so and it is believed that the attackers had fled the scene with the same vehicle.
At this point in time, the attackers had noticed the recording onlooker and he had showed foul gestures towards him. The video had stopped there but it is believed that the attackers fled the scene shortly after, leaving the victim for dead.
A police report was lodged immediately and the Kajang district police has issued a statement to respond to the matter.
In the statement released on Facebook, the police explained that they received an emergency call regarding the incident at 6.45 p.m. on Monday (2 August).
They immediately rush to the scene and what they found was the victim lying on the side of the road, covered in blood. The paramedics have also declared him dead on the scene.
According to their preliminary investigation, they said that the deceased died of blunt force trauma from bricks and multiple stab wounds.
Following an operation to track those involved in the incident, the police managed to identify and arrest 5 men aged between 39 to 48 year-old at 3.30 a.m. on Tuesday (3 August).
The statement also said that the 5 suspects had been remanded for 6 days until Sunday (8 August) and the case will be investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code. If found guilty, the only punishment for the crime is death sentence.
Meanwhile, the police also urge members of the public to supply them with relevant information via their local police stations.
