Pasir Salak Member of Parliament, Datuk Seri Tajuddin Abdul Rahman, was compounded for violating standard operating procedures (SOP) for not wearing a face mask when he was at the Parliament building.
Sentul District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Beh Eng Lai, said the compound was issued, after police detected a picture uploaded by a Twitter user showing Tajuddin not wearing a face mask.
“At about 2.30pm on the same day, he was found not wearing a face mask when he was with another individual in the Parliament foyer,” he said in a statement.
Following that, he said, a compound notice was issued by the police on Tajuddin at 1pm in the afternoon, and the value of the compound will be decided by the District Health Center (PKD).
Eng Lai said his party advised the public to continue to comply with the PKP SOP by wearing face masks and practicing physical imprisonment while in public in an effort to break the COVID-19 chain.
Through the post on Twitter, BH found that the average netizen criticized Tajuddin’s attitude of failing to comply with the SOP for wearing face masks in public.
BH’s review found that the post on Twitter has so far been repeated 6,778 times with 798 comments and 9,474 likes.
Tajuddin, who is also the former Chairman of Prasarana Malaysia Berhad (Prasarana), was previously fined RM1,500 for the same offense before wearing a face mask without wearing a face mask when holding a press conference after visiting the location of two LRT trains colliding in a tunnel near KLCC, here, Last May 25.
