It is difficult to believe that after more than a year since the Covid-19 pandemic started in Malaysia, there are still those who do not believe in the health crisis and thinks that the SOPs are merely a propaganda.
On Tuesday (20 July), a video showing a 29 year-old man refusing to cooperate with the police and threw abusive words at them went circulating on social media. This comes after he was being issued a compound for not wearing a face mask while filling his petrol.
According to Harian Metro, the incident happened at a petrol station in Sri Damansara.
In the video, the man can be seen reluctantly giving his identity card to the police officer and at the same time requested for the officer’s IC too. The man then shouted “Are you a police officer or a gangster?” when the police officer walked away for a moment.
The man then said that he only went to the shop to top up his Touch ‘n Go and did nothing else. He added that he is not a criminal but just an ordinary person. He continue explaining that when he was going to the counter, there was nobody around, in addition to the fact that the counter was near his car.
After a struggle, the police officer insisted on the compound for he had obviously violated the SOP. The man after receiving the compound then got into his car and begin airing his complaints to the camera and threw abusive words towards the authorities.
He said that the people those who are paying for the police’s salary and why should the the people comply to the police. He continue saying that those who comply with the police have “no backbones”.
“They gave me this paper, I will do nothing with it. I will do absolutely nothing with it. Take me to jail, I have no problem.” he said.
He then continue criticizing the people who follows the system and law.
“You take the vaccine which is not even approved, which have skipped animal trials, which have killed people. And then you harass other people to take it, and bully them and shame them and guilt-trip them.” he said.
“I don’t care if you’re family or friends, you have no backbone, you have no morality, you stand on nothing. You condone this and blame people like me who are using their brains to exercise our God-given rights.”
“Back then, to be a virtuous person, you actually had to be virtuous and do good things. Now, just wear a double mask and face shield and act like an idiot like a scared sheep, take the experimental jabs which are not safe probably for a supposed pandemic that can be proven to be false in a court of law.”
“And you pretend that is a virtue, that is not a virtue, that is cowardice.”
At the end of his video, he urged those who had watch the video to not “back down” and stand up for themselves.
The man was arrested at his apartment
After the video went viral, the man was being tracked down by the police and then being arrested at his apartment in Bandar Sri Damansara at about 10 p.m. as reported by NST.
“We received a police report on the video from a 38-year-old man at 9.17 p.m. last night. Following that, we arrested the suspect for investigation. Again, when the police made the arrest last night, the suspect made a live video through the same social media account.” Petaling Jaya District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Mohamad Fakhrudin Abdul Hamid said.
