In conjunction with the Hari Raya Aidiladha celebrations, it is suspected that the foreign workers living in Pelangi Flat, Auto City, Penang had came out from their living quarters to gather for prayers early this morning (20 July) at 8.40 a.m.
A netizen driving pass the streets of Auto City was startled after he saw the mass gathering. He then recorded the scene and uploaded the video to Facebook and urge the authorities to take action against them.
The video went viral on social media with several parties sharing it.
In the video, the netizen shouted “Ini panggil SOP? Alamak.” which translates into “Do you call this SOP? Oh my God.”
He continue grieving about the situation and said “If this continues, Malaysia will be gone for good.”
He added that no matter how great the vaccines are, it will not save Malaysia from another Covid-19 outbreak if people continue to mass gather like this.
The netizen then requested the members of the public to share this out so that the authorities are made aware of the incident.
Meanwhile in the comment section, netizens said that Malaysia is already more than 1 year into the Movement Control Order (MCO) and some just do no learn the importance of complying with the SOP.
On the other hand, netizens were skeptical about the video and said that it was taken last year and only share this morning. However, there were those who inspected the place and found that the crowd had already dispersed, leaving few that are having meeting at the scene.
