The saga started after Local rapper, Caprice questions the celebrity preacher and philanthropist, Ebit Lew for his actions while on a humanitarian aid mission in Gaza.
According to Kosmo, Ariz Ramli, or better known as Caprice said that he had reach out to Ebit Lew to question him about his intentions while giving aids to the local. However, he did not receive a reply and he was being blocked by Ebit Lew instead.
He then took the burning question to his Instagram Stories and share the multiple pictures of a young Palestinian girl receiving a toy from Ebit Lew and said that the locals have found them to be a distasteful photo-op.
Caprice then said that these situation have happened before and the people in Gaza are angered by these people who intend to use their pictures to get donations.
“This poor girl’s identity was not kept private.” he said in a Instagram Stories.
“The same poor girl, receiving the very same toy, but having to pose for the cameras twice. The people of Gaza are asking why does it look like a photo shoot?” he added.
Soon after that, Caprice in a series of Instagram Stories claimed that he is Ebit Lew’s number 1 supporter.
“I have been your number one supporter this whole time. This issue about the toys became a controversy after the people of Gaza told me about the pictures.” he explained.
Caprice then share a screenshot of the WhatsApp conversation between himself and Ebit Lew, saying that he wanted to Ebit Lew to clarify his actions in private before he decide to shares it with the public.
“The person who has to face the consequences of the photo op is me, while Ebit Lew has already gone home.” said Caprice.
As reported by Berita Harian, Caprice had went on a separate aid mission for Palestine organised by UMNO Welfare Bureau chairman Datuk Seri Azeez Abdul Rahim on 24 June.
However, Caprice later in Instagram said that he has yet to enter Gaza, and is currently stuck in Cairo, Egypt.
Commenting on the matter, netizens had directed their frustrations at Caprice and questioned his motive for attacking Ebit Lew. Nonetheless, netizens expressed their support for Ebit Lew and urge others to look both sides of the story before judging.
Meanwhile, the incident reach even the the Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Religious Affairs), Datuk Seri Dr Zulkifli Mohamad Al-Bakri’s ears and he urge the 2 to refrain from making the situation worse.
In a press conference yesterday (17 July), Dr Zulkifli said that although he has not seen the details of the allegations, the matter seemed to be personal and it should be resolved immediately.
“I have no comment as I have not looked into anything as of yet. However, I consider the two of them my friends, both have visited me before.”
“It is best if these kinds of things are dealt with in the very best way, which is to be forgiving.” he said.
