The National Cancer Society Malaysia (NCSM), along with several other non-profit organisations (NGO) have started their initiative to help Malaysians who are unable to go out of their homes to get vaccinated.
According to Malay Mail, The house-to-house vaccination programme is in a collaboration with Pertubuhan Malaysian Women’s Action for Tobacco Control and Health (MYWATCH), Malaysian Medical Association (MMA) and myNadi Foundation.
Through this initiative, the organisations will focus on Malaysians who are severely ill, bed-bound patients and people with special abilities including those with cancer and other chronic diseases who are not able to travel to public vaccination centres.
As reported, the organisation managed to vaccinate a total of 102 people a day and they have focused on the patients, as well as family members from the Hulu Langat district.
NCSM president, Datuk Dr Saunthari Somasundaram said they will ensure all their chronic disease patients to continue receiving care and comfort during this challenging times.
“When the MoH reached out to us to assist them in this initiative, we did not hesitate.”
“Supporting vaccination of these members of the community will help us get our nation back on track quicker.” he said.
Nonetheless, the organisations are calling out to Malaysians who are taking care of those severely ill, bedbound and persons with disability to register their dependents for the house-to-house programme.
At the same time, the Special Committee for Covid-19 Vaccine Supply (JKJAV) took it to their Twitter to promote the initiative too.
JKJAV had urge the public to register themselves through this google form, which they had prepared. The google form comes in 4 different languages so that users can read the form with the language they are most familiar with.
