The barbed wire installed on the stairs of block C of the Kampung Baru Air Panas People’s Housing Project (PPR), here, was ordered to be opened immediately.
Federal Territories Minister Tan Sri Annuar Musa said the installation of barbed wire was not allowed in flats subject to the Tightened Movement Control Order (PKPD).
He said the installation also violated building rules and authorities had been instructed to reopen the barbed wire.
“Barbed wire is not allowed to be installed on the stairs of flats in the PKPD area. The order to open it immediately has been issued.
“Installation across the stairs of flats (flats) is not allowed and violates building rules,” he said in a Twitter post, tonight.
Earlier, Wangsa Maju District Police Chief, Superintendent Ashari Abu Samah confirmed that the installation of the barbed wire had also been agreed in the PKPD coordination meeting for the area which started today.
He said the installation of barbed wire on the stairs of Block C to prevent residents from entering and leaving their homes.
“There are other routes that can be used by the residents of the block for the purpose of getting out of the block in the event of any emergency.
“In the event of an emergency, the ATM is able to open the barbed wire in a short period of time,” he said.
