Do you expect the courier service to deliver parcels to your doorstep and hands the parcels over to you nicely?
Recently, this courier company, J&T Express had make it to the headlines again after they allegedly requests the students to queue in front of their university main gate and then look for their parcel from the vehicle themselves.
According to the netizen, the incident happened just outside the main gate of Universiti Teknologi Petronas (UTP) at about 7 p.m. on Wednesday (30 June). The netizen even recorded the scene and the video was then shared on Twitter.
In the caption she wrote “Is this how J&T Express work? Apart from sending the parcel to only the main gate, but to request students to search for themselves?”
According to Malay Mail, Perak Tengah District Police chief, Supt Barudin Wariso confirmed the a report being lodged regarding the incident. He added that the police officers had found that the group of individuals crowding around to claim their parcel from the courier company had not been observing the SOP.
He added that the Tweet and video recording were subsequently deleted by the netizen.
Meanwhile, investigations are ongoing and the police officers had identify the courier company employee and the students in the video. He added that the case is being investigated under the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases Act 1988, Section 269 of the Penal Code and Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998.
As reported by ChinaPress, Barudin also mentioned that the students had requested the police and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) to look into the case and take further action on the courier company.
