The #BendePutih or #WhiteFlag campaign was recently launched to encourage those who are in dire need of food and supplies to hang a white flag in front of their homes to signify that they need immediate assistance.
The movement was initiated by a netizen so as to remind the public that help is always provided if you reach out to them. This is similar to the “Kita Jaga Kita” movement launched during the first Movement Control Order (MCO) too.
In conjunction with the movement, businesses and NGOs have stood up to give their support to those needed them too.
Below is a list of businesses who had announced their support for the campaign, as well as how are they supporting it. Please be reminded that this is not an exhaustive list.
1. 99 Speedmart
The supermarket chain had prepared 1,000 aid packages per day for delivery to areas near its outlets.
All you need is to raise a white flag as a sign for help and inform the supermarket through their Facebook page via private message or WhatsApp at 010-500 0099. You’ll need to provide your address and a picture of the white flag at your home too.
You can even submit a request for someone you know, or even your neighbour who had raised the white flag. 99 Speedmart will aim to deliver the pack within 24 hours to the said location.
Vit’s, the instant noodle manufacturer will be dispatching rangers across 16 areas in Rawang, Selangor to distribute food to household that raised the white flags.
Their campaign will be on 2 and 3 July and they will operate between 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
3. Mamavege Restaurant
Mamavege restaurant is a vegetarian restaurant in Bukit Mertajam, Penang and they are offering meals to those who needed it. If you or someone you know is facing distress or is unable to put food on the table, just fill up this Google form and they will have food delivered to you.
Those who are in a position to help can sponsor the meal boxes at the link provided here too. It cost you only RM5 per box.
4. SP Advisory
SP Advisory is a financial services firm from Skudai, Johor and they are offering their assistance to those who are staying in Johor Bahru, Masai, Kota Tinggi, Kulai, Skudai, Pontian, and Batu Pahat.
Nontheless, they did not specify what type of assistance they are offering.

Tinlicious provide a variety of biscuits and snacks from our childhood to adulthood. They are based in D’sara sentral, Sungai Buloh and they have set up a small corner filled with food for those in need to take them.
Those who are staying in the area can collect them at their shop. They operate from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
6. BMS Organics
This restaurant chain had set up a small corner in front of their shop at Puchong Utama, Selangor filled with free vegetarian bento boxes. Their campaign is available from every Tuesday to Saturday from 12 noon onwards.
Nonetheless, they’ve limited giveaway to 1 meal per person.
7. Persatuan Kebajikan Prihatin Penyayang Pulau Pinang (PKPPPP)
PKPPP is offering their assistance to the needy in Penang. However, they did not specify what kind of assistance is being provided.
Nonetheless, the public are encouraged to contact them via phone at 011-629 8108 if they know of those with white flags outside their homes.
8. OLIVE Grocer
This grocery store is offering food to those in need in Klang area. They will be providing free food in front of their store every Saturday in July from 10.30 a.m. to 12 p.m.
They also encourage the public to donate to their food bank if they can.
