A 37 year-old motorist found himself heavily injured after he crash into an ambulance after he beat the red light in the Hulu Selangor district yesterday (20 June). Nonetheless, he was sent to the hospital for treatment.

As reported by Sinar Harian, Hulu Selangor District Police Chief, Superintendent Arsad Kamaruddin said that the accident happened at aroun 8.05 p.m. near a petrol station in Serendah.

He added that the 45 year-old ambulance driver, along with 2 medical assistants from the Kuala Kubu Bharu Hospital were on their way to their work place from the Selayang Hospital.

At the junction, the ambulance continue moving as the traffic light was green on its lane. Surprisingly, a motorcycle suddenly came out of the junction and the ambulance were unable to avoid the vehicle in time, causing the accident.

After the collision, they went down from the ambulance and check on the motorist, where they found that he suffered injuries in his head and leg. He was then being sent to the Selayang Hospital for treatment.

Meanwhile, Arsad said that the case is being investigated under Section 43(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.

Regarding the accident, Arsad said that those who have further information are welcome to contact the nearest police station to assist in the investigations.
