With so many shopping malls in Kuala Lumpur, you may find them repetitive or with only some slight differences. With the soon-to-be completed Merdeka 118, the Exchange TRX mall will be your next destination!
From what was provided, the Exchange TRX mall is an integrated mall that is part of the Exchange TRX and it will consist of 1.3 million sq ft of net lettable space, making it the largest mall around the area. Nevertheless, it is even bigger than Singapore’s largest mall, the Vivo City.
In addition, it is reported that the mall will house up to 500 stores, including Food & Beverage outlets. On top of the mall, there will be a 10-acre rooftop city park too, featuring the new green heart of Kuala Lumpur.
According to TRX, there will be a variety of space for organisers to carry out cultural events and activities such as concerts and showcases, and these will be those that will make the mall lively too.
Upon completion, it is expected that the lifestyle district will attract many visitors and tourists due to its strategic location, and its versatility of the district that makes it a one place to “work, eat, play, shop and have fun.” The area is also just 1 MRT stop away from Bukit Bintang and 2 stops from KLCC too!
Currently, there are already a few retail stores that had confirmed their opening in the Exchange TRX mall, where you can expect the luxury department store Seibu, the premium food store by Dairy Farm International, as well as the Golden Screen Cinemas.
According to their Instagram post, it seems that % Arabica will be opening their second outlet here. Not to forget the Apple are in talks with TRX to open their first Apple Store in Malaysia here!
The Exchange TRX mall was supposed to be completed in the previous year, however, it was so unfortunate that it had to be delayed due to the Covid-19 pandemic and the Movement Control Order (MCO).
The mall will be a brand new attraction in the near future once it’s completed in 2022! Meanwhile, it is connected to the soon-to-be world’s second tallest building, the Merdeka 118, which is set to complete in 2025 too!
