The Minister of Finance, Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Tengku Abdul Aziz had in a conference today (8 June) said that the Ministry of Finance (MoF) had recently launched MyDIGITAL as an initiative to digitalise the country’s economy, and as to digitalise the payments for all government services gradually by 2022 too.

This initiative will lead to higher transactional security, better coordination, enhanced communications on anti-corruption initiatives, and greater ease of sharing information.

In addition, MyDIGITAL is the Malaysia’s digital economy blueprint to move towards a more digitally connected economy¬†in the Industrial Revolution 4.0 (IR 4.0).

According to Bernama, Tengku Zafrul said that 60% of the government’s total collection was through e-payment as at the end of last year in his speech when officiating the Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA) Conference 2021.

He added that the Government is working continuously to ensure good governance and accountability, while providing more efficient and effective public service delivery.

Nevertheless, the Government is pushing for digitalisation on various aspects, including modernising the public service delivery and curb corruption. This will reduce direct contact points between citizens and public officials too.
