Apple had recently confirmed that the Apple TV app will be available on Google Play Store for all Android TV devices. Apart from the Apple devices, the app is also available on all streaming devices and even gaming consoles.
Previously, the app is only limited to certain TVs and consoles, which made it pretty inconvenient for Apple users. Nevertheless, the rolling out of the app has been anticipated for quite some time now after Android TV operating system was first launched back in December 2020.
According to Apple, for you to run the app, your Android TV device should be running on 8.0 Oreo or higher. If you meet all the requirements, all you need to do is simply search for the Apple TV app through Google Play on your device.
If you already have an active subscription, you can link your account in a few simple steps. With your iPhone in hand, simply sign in from the mobile device and scan the QR on the screen.
Alternatively, you can activate your subscription at activate.apple.com by logging in with your Apple ID and enter the 4-digit code that appears on your TV. The third option would be to sign in Apple TV with your remote control, which is obviously a tedious method.
On the other hand, those that do not have an active subscription with Apple TV can simply subscribe to their streaming service at only RM19.90 a month and it is also available as part of Apple One.
If you are unsure of whether it’s worth your money, they provide a 7-day free trail for you to enjoy their product!
