Malaysia Vaccine Task Force blames SElangkah for phantom vaccine slot bookings

NewsMalaysia Vaccine Task Force blames SElangkah for phantom vaccine slot bookings

While the bookings for the AstraZeneca vaccines went out within an hour after the registrations opens on Wednesday (26 May) at 12 p.m., some individuals claimed that they’ve received appointments even when they did not opt-in for the vaccination.

Meanwhile, the Covid-19 Immunisation Task Force (CITF) said that SELangkah admitted that they’ve booked the AstraZeneca Covid-19 vaccination slots on behalf of these individuals on the ImuniSEL database without getting their prior consent.

According to Malay Mail, the CITF said that they have found mass bookings made from the same IP address and the CITF had contacted one of the parties who made the bookings, which was SELangkah.

CITF said that they are currently working with SELangkah and those involved to resolve the issues as soon as possible.

Responding to these allegations, one of the developers behind SElangkah said that CITF’s appointment mix-ups could have been avoided through a basic date validation function.

“All the drama because they forgot to insert a line of code: IF Date B > Date A: Date A. Else: Date B.” he said.

This topic arise after Malaysians were complaining about receiving later dates for AstraZeneca vaccination than their earlier scheduled appointments under the non-AstraZeneca stream of the National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme (PICK), when they did not even register for the AstraZeneca vaccine.
