Drivers in Penang are going all out to escape Roadblock Queue

Social NewsDrivers in Penang are going all out to escape Roadblock Queue

The Covid-19 cases in Malaysia have recently surged and authorities are forced to impose a tighter SOP. This led to more roadblocks were being set up to limit the public’s movement.

Yesterday (24 May), a video featuring drivers in Penang making illegal U-turns and going against the traffic had went viral on Facebook. The scene was recorded at Tun Dr Lim Chong Eu Highway just before the Penang Bridge and as shown, there is a long queue of vehicles moving slowly towards the road block.

As the queue was long, drivers who do not wish to wait in line decided to make an illegal U-turn and drive against the traffic on the opposite lane. Meanwhile, some cars decide to turn around on the spot after seeing the long queue.

Despite going against the traffic, there were no reports that accidents had happened. Nonetheless, this act is strongly discouraged as it causes danger to other motorists on the road.

Meanwhile, netizens urged the authorities to investigate this incident and make sure that it will not happen again.
