TV host-entrepreneur, Neelofa and her husband, PU Riz were not charged at the courts yesterday for breaching the SOP by interstate travelling to carpet shop in Nilai 3.
According to NST, Nilai district police chief, Superintendent Mohd Fazley Ab Rahman said that the investigation papers was submitted to the Attorney-General’s office before the case was brought to court.
However, the interstate travel issue involving the couple was not brought to court after the Attorney-General’s office’s input was taken into consideration. Mohd Fazley added that the investigation and decision were made based on the existing statements from Neelofa and her husband.

As reported, Neelofa and her husband were charged at the Seremban Magistrate’s Court for not scanning their MySejahtera or registering their details manually in the log book before entering the carpet shop on May 2.
In addition, PU Riz faced an charges for not wearing a face mask in a public place.
The couple pleaded not guilty and they were released on a bail of RM15,000, while the hearing will continue on 4 June.
Their lawyer, Haresh Mahadevan told NST yesterday that the couple was present at the court for existing charges. However, there were no charges involving the interstate travel.
Meanwhile, netizens were confused on why was the couple not being charged for interstate travel as it is obvious that Neelofa would need to travel interstate to Nilai 3, which is part of Negeri Sembilan.
Netizens then joked that Nilai 3 is now under Selangor and that’s the reason for the AG to not charge Neelofa for interstate travel!
Despite the claims, the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) had opened an investigation regarding a fake account that spread the false information that Nilai 3 is part of Selangor.
As reported by Berita Harian, Nilai District Police Chief, Superintendent Mohd Fazley Ab Rahman said that the owner of the account had been called up to give his statement.
Once again, he emphasizes that Nilai is part of Negeri Sembilan and he requested the public to not spread false information.
