According to Harian Metro, a 60 year-old woman from Mukim Bunut Susu, Kelantan had ran away before the implementation of the Enhanced Movement Control Order (EMCO) on her village. It is believed that she has spread the Covid-19 virus to 7 other individuals.
The elderly woman ran to a family member’s house in Pulau Beluru, Tumpat to celebrate Hari Raya.
Director of Kelantan State Health Department (JKNK), Datuk Dr Zaini Hussin said that the elderly woman was tested positive for Covid-19 on the second day of Hari Raya.
“As soon as we found that the elderly woman was not in the village while her name was on the list, we got information that the woman had flee to her brother’s house in Tumpat.” Dr Zaini said at the press conference.
“We then instructed the Tumpat District Health Office (PKD) to track down the senior citizen before taking her for swab testing.”
“The results of the swab test came out on the second day of the Hari Raya and confirmed that the elderly woman was tested positive for Covid-19”
Unfortunately, she had spread the virus to 7 other individuals in Tumpat and they include her family members too.
Dr Zaini said that the woman flee the village because she wanted to celebrate Hari Raya and found out that the village was about to be put under EMCO.
As of now, the frontliners are still tracking other close contacts of the elderly woman so that they can get tested for Covid-19.
