MOH is considering tighter SOPs or Full MCO In Selangor if the state fails to curb Covid-19

In the National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme press conference held today (17 May), Health Minister, Datuk Seri Dr Adham Baba said that the Movement Control Order (MCO) has allowed the authorities to expand the Covid-19 testing and isolations of positive cases.

In addition to that, the state government had conducted RTK-Antigen tests in Covid-19 hotspots to allow quick contract tracing and incident response action to be taken.

Despite having testing expanded, Dr Adham Baba suggested that the Government to tighten the SOP or implement a full MCO in Selangor if the authorities are unable to control the Covid-19 situation in state.

Meanwhile, Selangor records the highest number of daily Covid-19 cases throughout this period with cases of at least 1,000 daily.

Considering the current situation, most Malaysians are leaning towards this suggestion as it is the best method for us to curb the Covid-19 virus. However, there were some that were confused as to how a “full MCO” would differ from the MCO we’re currently in.
