The Malaysia Government had just released a list of COVID-19 hotspots to help people plan their movements and to prevent contracting the COVID-19 virus.

According to Science, Technology, and Innovation Minister Khairy Jamaluddin, the HIDE list will also serve as a guideline for business owners and operators to take preventative measures to prevent their premise from becoming a source of COVID-19 outbreak.

Khairy added that making use of the data collected, they were able to ascertain that 90% of the cases were spread in 0.2% of the registered premises on MySejahtera.

As this list is made known to the public, Khairy advices the public to delay visiting the premises on the HIDE list.

“The public is also advised to delay visiting locations and premises that have been listed. If you do have to visit these locations, adhere to the guidelines that have been set,” he said in a press conference.

The list shows that most of the premises flagged as COVID-19 hotspots by HIDE are located in the Klang Valley, following by Selangor and Kuala Lumpur, Johor, Penang, Sarawak, Sabah, Putrajaya, Perak, Kelantan as well as one each in Melaka and Negeri Sembilan.
