NewsMOSTI will release a list of premises at Risk of Covid-19 infection...

Given that the daily Covid-19 cases is on the rise, the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MOSTI) had introduced the Hotspots Identification for Dynamic Engagement (HIDE) system, which is accessible in the MySejahtera app.

The Ministry added that HIDE uses Big Data and Artificial Intelligence paired with contact tracing to predict the emergence of clusters, and the public would be able to use this to more effectively avoid places which are potentially infected.

In addition to that, the government will be releasing the list of premises that could potentially produce clusters, such as shopping malls or eateries starting from 7 May.

“The list enables the owners of the premises and the public to take appropriate action to prevent the occurrence of clusters triggered by the premises.” Khairy Jamaluddin said during the press conference attended by TheSunDaily.

“Besides that, it also allows the business premises involved to be identified as a ‘hotspot’ for the possibility of the formation of large clusters,” he added.

Khairy also mentioned that early warnings issued by HIDE will be able to prevent the closure of the premise or lockdowns with tighter measures. On 3 May, the system managed to detect 1,660 hotspots with the potential to become clusters in the nation. Making use of the data collected, they were able to ascertain that 90% of the cases were spread in 0.2% of the registered premises on MySejahtera.

Khairy also urge all Malaysians to register and use MySejahtera as this can is to enable the HIDE system can be more accurate in making its calculations and predictions.
