Malaysia Queen gets cyberbullied into deactivating IG account

Yesterday, the Malaysia Queen, Tunku Aziziah had replied “DengkiKe?”, which meant “Envy?” on a comment from a netizen on her Instagram post and a heated discussion started among the public. #DengkiKe had since then sat at the top of the Twitter Trends.

The Queen shared her daily life on Instagram account, saying that she was busy in the national palace kitchen with a number of chefs all afternoon, cooking a variety of dishes.

Unexpectedly, a netizen then left a message “Are the chefs vaccinated?”. In response to the comment, the Queen replied “DengkiKe?” (Envy?).

This reply had started discussion on Twitter. Some criticized the response from the Queen, while some made a joke and said that they were worried or sentenced to imprisonment for incitement.

Subsequently, the Queen had temporarily disabled her Instagram account since yesterday afternoon.

What’s the discussion about?

During the weekend, a foreign media alleged that the Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Sultan Abdullah Sultan Ahmad Shah, his family and several Malaysian VIPs received the Sinopharm vaccine, which has yet to be approved by Malaysia’s pharmaceutical regulator.

The report pointed out that His Majesty also obtained 2,000 doses of China’s Sinopharm Covid-19 vaccine so that the family and friends can be vaccinated.

However, Minister of Health Dr Adham Baba has denied the report and denounced the allegations in the article as unfounded. It is an attempt to create a negative impression of Malaysia.

Many netizens are concerned about this subject of the royal family members were given priority for the vaccination, and have tagged the Twitter of the Special Committee on Guaranteed Access to Coronary Disease Vaccines (JKJAV), hoping to get the government’s attention.

Seeing tweets about how people literally bullied the q*een into deactivation. They didn't.

They were punching up. There's a difference. To say that people bullied who oppresses them is an oxymoron.

Ordinary Malaysians have been waiting for vaccines patiently since months ago, and our Queen can ask us #DengkiKe when we ask them about their vaccination.
