Tengku Permaisuri Norashikin had made a special appearance on Berita Perdana Khas at 8pm yesterday on RTM 1, 1 April. The special appearance is in conjunction with the 75th anniversary of Radio Televisyen Malaysia (RTM).
You might be wondering why did she went on air to report the latest news and current issues. Many may not know that prior to her marriage to Selangor Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah, she was an RTM news presenter.
According to Astro Awani, the programme’s producer, Khairul Azli Rahim said that we was honoured and excited that Tengku Permaisuri Norashikin will be delivering the news segment he edited.
“This is the first time Tengku Permaisuri Norashikin appeared on television since she became the Tengku Permaisuri Selangor five years ago.” he said.
“I represent the production team and crew of RTM to send our gratitude to her for willing to spend some time to deliver the news.” he added.
Apparently, Tengku Permaisuri Norashikin had gathered herself a fan base back in those days while she was the news presenter.
Many of her fans were surprised and delighted to witness her special appearance.
“Oh god, I missed watching her reporting and this reminds me about listening to her reporting while I am still in my secondary school years.”
“I’ve been her fan since I was little. I would wait until 8.30 p.m. to just watch her. Once the sports news segment starts, I’ll change the channel.”
“She’s a legend when it comes to news reporting. Her appearance is gentle, elegant and so talented. She’s someone I admire and she aspires me to chase my dreams and ambitions. I’ve been cured of longing after her appearance just now. Congratulations, Tengku Permaisuri.”
