Miss Grand Malaysia, Jasebel Robert had successfully made her mark in the Malaysia history by bringing home the Top 10 Finalist in the Miss Grand International 2020 pageant.
Even though Miss Grand USA, Abena Appiah took the crown as the Miss Grand Internationals, Jasebel is the first ever Malaysian contestant to make it to the final 10 of the competition. She even won the Miss Popular Vote award during the finals.
The other runners-up are from Philippines, Guatemala, Indonesia, Brazil, Czech Republic, Puerto Rico, Thailand, and Argentina.
The Miss Grand Internationals were chosen after several rounds of interviews, competitions and social media votes.
Jasebel had already gathered a strong fan base during the preliminaries and she consistently score high votes in the pre-pageant competitions such as the swimsuit and evening gown segments.
While the competition was carried out in Bangkok, Thailand, Jasebel successfully caught the attention of many in social media with her Mak Yong-themed national costume.
After the finals, Jasebel took her gratitude to Instagram, thanking everyone who put tremendous effort into voting and supporting her. She can’t explain how grateful she is towards you guys. She added “This award is for all of you, not me!”
