News941 cases! The first 3-digit Covid-19 cases in Malaysia since 9 Dec...

It’s been a long time since we first record a 3-digit Covid-19 daily case and the last 3-digit daily case was from as early as 9 December 2020.

The Ministry of Health had reported a daily increase of 941 cases today (29 March) and it shows that the efforts to contain the Covid-19 virus are bearing fruits.

Health Director General, Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham had tweeted the breakdown of the cases by states for the public to better understand the situation, and they are:

  • Selangor: 219
  • Sabah: 34
  • Johor: 171
  • Kuala Lumpur: 57
  • Negeri Sembilan: 18
  • Sarawak: 192
  • P Pinang: 164
  • Perak: 5
  • Kedah: 13
  • Melaka: 8
  • Kelantan: 49
  • Pahang: 5
  • Terengganu: 4
  • Labuan: 1
  • Putra Jaya: 1
  • Perlis: 0

Given that the daily new cases have reduced, it is not time for us to lax ourselves. Dr Noor Hisham had on yesterday tweeted that the R-naught value as of 28 March is at 0.94, which means that for every one infected person, they more likely to spread the disease to 0.94 other people.

The battle with Covid-19 is still far from the end.

Dr Noor Hisham added “Together we need to take all precautionary measures to reduce the daily cases. We certainly can learn from our past experience on how to live side by side with Covid-19.”

“A gentle & constant reminder to all. Together we can break the chain of Covid-19 transmission in our country.”
