The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Agency (MACC) has detained a senior government official for allegedly demanding for sexual favours as a bribe from a woman to secure her agriculture loan.
The individual, aged 51, works as the head of a department in the Keningau district.
As reported in NST, the suspect was arrested on 19 March 2021, in a hotel in Keningau. The arrest was confirmed by Sabah MACC director, Karunanithy Subbiah and he stated that the suspect is being investigated under Section 17 (a) of the MACC Act 2009.
Karunanithy added that the senior civil servant was detained for 24 hours to obtain his statement and was then released on MACC bail amounting to RM10,000, with a local surety.
As an advice to all women, do not succumb to these pressure and seek from from MACC or the the Royal Police of Malaysia (PDRM). Always keep the evidence to protect yourself!
