What’s “Clubhouse” and what’s the hype about it?

Social NewsWhat's "Clubhouse" and what's the hype about it?

Clubhouse had been the latest trend on social media these days. I’m sure that you would have seen posts or sharing about Clubhouse while you are scrolling through your timeline or stories.

What’s the hype about it?

Clubhouse is a social media platform which works as a live podcast. It is designed for hosts to create discussion groups, interviews, and conversations. What’s special about Clubhouse is that whether host or guest, you can only use speech to communicate and there is no chat box provided.

The room is limited to 5,000 guests at a time and you won’t be able to join that room until someone leaves the room.

The content shared in the room will be permanently deleted without a trace once the room is closed, hence, you can expect many to share exciting topics without any restrain.

How do you sign up?

Unlike other applications, just downloading Clubhouse do not give you access to its platform. You need an invitation from an existing Clubhouse user to give you access to set up a Clubhouse account.

You’ll receive a SMS notification once they’ve invited you. The SMS comes with a link and you should be able to activate your account through that link. All new users can only send 2 invitation at first and you’ll be able to accumulate more invites as time goes by.

How to not spend the 2 invites?

The existing user will get a notification if a friend of his had downloaded Clubhouse and the app will suggest the existing user to invite his friend to join. Using this method, the existing user will not spend any of the 2 invites quota.

Unfortunately, Clubhouse is not available for Andriod users yet and it can only be found from the Apple AppStore.
