Debunking the viral message of Health DG resigning

Recently, there had been a whatsapp message which had been spreading like wild bushes. The message is about the Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah relinquishing his position as the Malaysia Health Director-General.

The message that went viral is fake and both Kementerian Kesihatan Malaysia (KKM) and Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham had stand up to clarify the matter.

The whatsapp message links to MalaysiaFlipFlop and in the article, they’ve put the blame on the Prime Minister and the 2 ministers that caused Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham’s resignation. They’ve stated that the actual number of daily cases is less than 100 since the early of January 2021.

The information that MalaysiaFlipFlop wants to convey does not seem to have any evidence and this is one of the classic fake news example. However, it does seem that this is written by a netizen that was fed up with the government’s actions.

Lastly, it’s our responsibility to stop the spread of fake news and validating the information before spreading it around. Keep our society free from fake news!
